Routine and structure are of extreme importance in my life. They are a 'high' value item. Routine is what helps me get through my days with grace and ease.
Let's look at the morning routine for example. I get up. I run. I get myself ready for the work. We get the boys up. They get ready. I have my morning coffee in the car as I drive to drop the boys off at school. I go to work.
Same exact routine Monday - Friday.
Every single week generally without a flaw.
It creates simplicity. Everyone knows what to expect. Everyone is prepared for the next step. Everyone is comfortable.
However, with routine there is little room for spontaneity, excitement or unexpected fun.
So sometimes it's important to live on the edge a little and add a slash of ..........color!
