As for me and my house, we will praise the Lord... (the refrain of one of my favorite songs!)
I don't know of any other way to be. He is my everything. My strength comes from Him. I can not depend on my own understanding - I must trust Him.
I wake up in the mornings and I step outside at 5:30 a.m. and I start running. During these morning runs I find solitude. I find peace. I find my Lord.
I pray to Him. Prayer is just like talking with God. It's not scary or intimidating. It's a conversation. For me, it goes something like this:
I thank Him for the day in front of me. I thank Him for my health (as I am running). I thank Him for my family. I thank Him for my ability to work at a job that makes a difference in people's lives. I ask Him to use me as his tool to share and spread His Word and act in a manner that is pleasing to Him. I ask Him to forgive me of times I fail and let Him down. And then I thank Him again for forgiving me and being patient with me.
Our God is GREAT! He is patient and kind and loves us in a way that we can't understand, but, we know it is good.
Our God is an AWESOME God. He reigns over heaven and earth (another great song!)
