Over the past 2 days I have been privileged enough to have been participating in a leadership program that is put on by Greater Mankato Growth. My place employment (Ecumen Pathstone Living) of course deserves some praise for sponsoring my involvement. It is a great way to grow individuals leadership qualities, network with other professionals in our community as well as learn more and gain exposure to what our community has to offer.
Well, today we went to Minnesota State University, Mankato Experimental Education Program and participate in the High Ropes Course. It was an adrenaline rush let me tell you. The course is 40 feet high in the air and obstacles that you have to conquer either by yourself or with a team member. There is also a rock climbing wall which was awesome.
My courage was challenged when I climbed a 30 foot pole, stood on top of it without any rope to hang on to and jump 9 feet out in the air in effort to try and grab a trapeze swing. IT WAS AMAZING! I still have a smile on my face that I actually challenged myself to do this. I didn't actually grasp the pole but I did give it a very good effort and surprised myself at that.
