1st Day of Kindergarten

Jesse Walter is officially a kindergartner.  I can hardly believe it.  He has grown up so fast.

He was so excited for school today.  We have been talking about it a LOT lately in hopes to prepare him for the big day.  I think it must have worked although he was a little nervous this morning while eating breakfast.  He started crying a little and saying, "Mommy what if I am to shy in school today?"  We assured it that it is okay to be shy and nervous but he'd push through it and things will be okay.  That his teacher really cares about him and she will be with him all day.  He seemed to be comforted by that ...and the fact that mommy stuck a picture of our family in his pocket and told him that if he got scared at all during the day he could pull out that picture and know that we love him very much.  Once we got to school ... he did GREAT!

Jesse is attending Immanuel Lutheran School.  At the beginning of each school year they host a sort of "Bless the School Year" type service.  All of the students attend in their classes and families are welcome to participate.  We went this morning.  It was excellent.  I am so happy that we are sending him to this school.  Something inside of me is telling me it is right for our boys.  I think that 'something' is probably the Holy Spirit.  God is good.

Here is the sanctuary.  Isn't it beautiful?

One more thing...when I picked up Jesse from school this afternoon he was jazzed about it.  His little mouth could hardly keep up with what he all wanted to tell me.  And the sweetest part was - he said he only had to look at his picture one time and that he doesn't think he'll even need it tomorrow - "cuz mommy, you always live in my heart."

  Tear.
