Happy Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving.  I am thankful for many, many blessings in my life.

I am thankful for my Lord and Savior.  I am thankful that he has generously given me the blessings in my life.

I am thankful for my husband - he knows me so well and gives me his heart everyday.

I am thankful for my sons - thoughout childhood into being a young lady the only thing I knew for certain was that I wanted to be someday was a mother.  And yes, being a mother is as wonderful as I thought it would be.

I am thankful for my childhood which includes inspirational parents, wonderful sisters and a brother and life growing up on a farm.  All of these people and farm life were the foundation of the start of my life.  No matter what happens as I grow older, they will always be with me and be the footprints of where my journy began.

I am thankful for my in-laws.  All of them have made my 'idea' of family so much sweeter.  Thank you for loving and accepting me as one of your own.

I am thankful for my career.  I am blessed to work in a Christian organization that challenges me enough to keep me growing, learning and experiencing new things as well as allow me to make an impact on this world.

I am thankful for financial stability.  I thank the Lord that we are able to put food on our plates and a roof over our heads.

I am thankful for freedom and that by the grace of God I was actually born and raised in the United States of America.  Wow am I lucky to be in that small percentage of the total population of the world.

And finally...........I am thankful for pies on Thanksgiving - yes I said pies.  I was honored with being asked to bring pies to our Thanksgiving this year.  If you read a few posts back you will see the MASTER of pies teaching me the secrets of making delicious homemade crusts.  Grandma Ardella Bruns is a special, special lady.  She told me, "I am so glad you are my granddaughter and have taken this over for me."  I think I shed a tear when she said that, because you see, I am NOT actually her granddaughter.  I married her grandson.  But that just reiterates the comment I made earlier about my in-laws accepting me as if I were their own.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
