Washington D.C. Trip....first half

Washington D.C. is spectacular. I just wanted to start off this post by saying that. My brother lives here and I am also currently out here right now as I am type this blog. I flew out Thursday and have stayed with Darrin until today (Sunday). My sister Wendy and well as my mom have stayed here too. So this was the first half of my trip which as been SO much fun...now I am on my second half of my trip which includes attending a conference for work.

First we started by touring the Capital. This picture of the ceiling of the rotunda. Through out the tour we had to wear these headphones so we could hear the tour guide.
Again the painting around a lower part of the rotunda.

The newest monument: Martin Luther King Jr.

I loved this saying at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial

Mandy (Darrin's girlfriend) and myself...and we didn't even plan the pink turtlenecks

Can you see how the stone in the building starts as a darker color, turns lighter in the middle, and then is dark again at the end? This is where they repaired the Pentagon because the plane crashed into it.

The Sohre Family right before Mom and Wendy flew home.

Stay tuned for the second half
